課程概述 |
This course introduces students to empirical methods for making causal inferences in agricultural problems. Topics include instrumental variables, matching methods, difference-in-difference, and regression discontinuity design. This course especially focuses on policy/program evaluation. Students are expected to finish several hand-on assignments to learn how to practically implement these methods on real problems. |

課程目標 |
The objective of this course is to equip students with knowledge of empirical methods for making causal inferences in agricultural problems. At the end of this course, students should have a broad sense of what research design/empirical method to apply in empirical research. |
|
課程要求 |
Ideally, students should have successfully completed a course of applied econometrics at the master level, as required in the first year of the Master program in Agricultural Economics. Students who feel that their background in econometrics may be deficient should discuss their concerns with the course instructor. |
